About your Therapist

Alan Arnett

BA, MFA, LMT, BCTMB

Warm greetings, I'm Alan Arnett; thank you for viewing my site. Being a massage therapist is my second incarnation; being a dancer was the first. Massage entered my life as young dance major at Radford University, where my modern dance professor Dr. Pegeen Albig introduced our class to myotherapy, and 30 years later, teaching together in Spain, longtime mentor Lynn Simonson encouraged me to take the leap and fly. My dance career brought deep insight to the body, and to pain! Receiving massage and bodywork all over the world gave me deep respect for effective treatments. After retiring from 18 years of teaching at Shenandoah University, I am inspired, ready and eager to deliver healing to my clients.

I graduated from Cedar Stone School of Massage in Harrisonburg, Virginia, completing their 757-hour board certification program and serving clients in the school's student clinic for two semesters. Attending CSSM full-time for 18 months provided opportunities to deliver double the required amount of "giving" hours and take twice as many track classes (specialized modalities). Currently I am certified nationally by NCBTMB and licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Department of Health Professions' Board of Nursing. My work is a multicultural blend of Western and Eastern styles, adding even more therapeutic value with Native American stone therapy, included at no extra cost in every Laughing Buddha Bodywork treatment. I believe in INTEGRATED STONE THERAPY FOR DEEPER HEALING!

Close friends know the therapist's path also fulfills me greatly. I feel blessed to pursue my second calling and thankful for the opportunity to help my clients achieve relief, wellness and balance in their own lives.
